We’ve previously covered the benefits of using Snapchat for business. It’s cool and on trend, as well as being a productive tool for sharing your product snapshots – as well as providing an insight into your brand.

But you don’t have to keep your Snapchat photos and stories trapped inside the app forever! Set them free by repurposing them elsewhere.

To get started, you’ll need to store your content to your device.

In order to upload the content elsewhere, you’ll need to have it saved to your library.

Always save the photos and videos you take with Snapchat.

It’s easy to save from Snapchat – simply tap the download button, and the job is done!

Download your Story – something not many people realise is possible!

In addition to saving each individual Snap you take, you can also download your Snapchat Story as a whole.

From the ‘Story’ page, find ‘My Story’. Next to it, you’ll see the same ‘Download’ icon that you see when saving an individual photo or video.

Tap it, and your Story will be saved to your device in its entirety.

Once you’ve got the content saved and ready to go, it’s time to start uploading it to other platforms! Here are some ideas to consider.

1. Upload your story (or part of it) to another platform.

The simplest way to repurpose your content is to simply upload it to your other social media profiles, such as Facebook or Twitter. This saves you the time spent taking photos specifically for each platform.

2. Use Snapchat’s filters and graphics to make your content pop.

Snapchat has plenty of ways to enhance your photos, using text, graphics and filters. Use this to create images that are sure to pop on other platforms and stand out amongst the rest.

3. Post your videos and stories to YouTube.

If you’re not using YouTube because the time and energy spent on creating videos put you off, this is the solution to your problem.

Create a YouTube account for your business and use it to upload your saved Snapchat videos. Another platform covered (and a new audience reached) with very little additional work!

4. Turn short videos into GIFs.

You’ve probably noticed the trend for GIFs around the web recently – especially on social media and trending sites such as Buzzfeed.

Take advantage by creating your own! Use an app such as GIPHY to create your own GIFs using your own photos and videos. You can then save them and upload them wherever you please.

By using your Snapchat content in other places around the web, you’ll get more value from it in the long term and make a larger return on your investment, in terms of both time and money spent on Snapchat marketing.

Do you use Snapchat? If so, why not consider using your Snaps on other platforms? Tell us in the comments if you try it out, we’d love to know how you used them!
